She never got a real answer. Or, I didn't understand the answer. Middle class people with no real power can buy expensive cars, as long as they have permission. Most people [worldwide] don't realize that people need permission to buy a car in China. Economic expansion and political change don't necessarily go hand in hand, though it helps.
