Calling a “The TOP”

by Kaiser Edamame

“These guys are lazy.”

“They never post anymore.”

“The only time they do post is to correctly call tops and bottoms, and that is completely useless information.”

Well we’re sorry to disappoint, but we’re calling the top, correctly, again.

In case you aren’t familiar with our track record:

1) We said the 2020 Covid bottom would occur on April 28th, 2020. Now that was mainly to make you feel better about our decision to decline your withdrawal request, but also, it was wicked.

2) We made an unusual call that February 2015 was also a bottom, even though it didn’t look like one. But we pointed out that bottoms come in many beautiful shapes and sizes and you shouldn’t discriminate, you should regulate. Other than a brief scare related to a silly presidential election – we were again very darn right (sorry for the vulgarity).

3) We called the top of the commodity / housing cycle basically perfectly with our June 6th, 2007 post titled…. wait for it …… “I’m calling the top” where we correctly pointed out that dog yoga meant that Las Vegas home prices were doomed. And we were within days of the top…

4) About a year later, everyone said “oh the hardship is over, Jamie Dimon saved the day, we’re going to rally”. And we told everyone that we were sorry, like very sorry, but we were not going to rally, we were going into something like a depression as we presciently posted: “Topping the Bottom” on April 4th, 2008.

5) Then a year after that, we told you all to get your big boy britches on and stop being such a Debbie Does Dallas Downer, and get LONG and STRONG, because we are going to get the friction on! That was a post titled Short the Shorts, posted on…. April 9th, 2009. That may have been a good time to buy, I don’t know, check and get back to us.

So are you going to listen to us and sell? You’re not, but it’s ok, because we’re not going to let you withdraw your money anyway. Even though we are calling the top, and you are about to lose a lot of your money, we would like to lose your money FOR you. That way you can avoid the self-loathing and blame us instead. Yes, blame us with all those management fees, just shower us and our kids trust funds with blame and ridicule and 2% management fees with high water marks that reset quarterly. Rene Girard says scapegoating is the only way to solve human misery (other than some religious stuff, but we all know that’s useless!) so make us the bad guy, or maybe the bad boy. We will do that for you. Yes, we’ve been bad boys and you should teach us a lesson and slap our bottoms (and fees, make sure to slap us with those too).

You heard it here – the top is nearby, most likely, and if it’s not we’ll delete this post to preserve our track record in accordance with SAAP.

Recommendation: Long Gold, Real Estate, Bit Coins, and reasonably priced Cephalopod plays, get on the blower and have your broker or us buy the the only four things that can withstand inflationary debasement. Short ego, just when you start pointing out how you’ve been right for over 20 years, well, the sun looks awfully bright up here this close, doesn’t it Icarus Edamame?
